Peter T. Ryan co-founded Ryan & Wetmore with Michael J. Wetmore in 1988. Under Pete’s leadership, the firm has grown from a two-person practice into a trusted Mid-Atlantic accounting and advisory firm with three offices and a 45-member team. Pete is known for helping clients navigate complex auditing, accounting, and tax matters with practical, strategic guidance.

Pete is actively involved in both professional and community organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors for several successful for-profit and nonprofit organizations, including FACETS, and currently serves on the advisory board of Conscious Venture Labs.
He also serves on the Leadership Board of the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors (AM&AA), where he supports business owners and advisory professionals through ownership transitions and strategic transactions. In addition, Pete is involved with the Healthcare Advisors Association, Healthcare Business Advisory, and the Medical Society of Northern Virginia (MSNVA).
Pete is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the AICPA Tax Section, Personal Financial Planning Section, and Not-For-Profit Section.
Pete holds a Series 65 certification and the Accredited Valuation Analyst (CVA) credential. Washingtonian Magazine has recognized him as a Top Financial Advisor in the Washington, DC region, reflecting his reputation for trusted advisory leadership and long-standing client relationships. He has also been named a “Best-in-State CPA” by Forbes, recognizing his expertise, experience, and commitment to client service.
Education
Pete earned a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from The Catholic University of America.
